CONTRACT APPLIQUÉ

What it is: appliqué (ap-li-kay) noun. a piece of fabric cut out and sewn or fixed ornamentally to another. contract (kon-trakt) noun. to assign Artistic Stitches, Inc. to embroider/sew appliqué to customer supplied garments.

Where you’ve seen it: appliqué is the collegiate look you see in university bookstores, on athletic uniforms and in retailers like Abercrombie & Fitch.

Why your customer wants it: appliqué offers a high-end retail look customized for your client. Appliqué can be custom cut to virtually any font or shape to duplicate a corporate logo and is also available in stock fonts and styles to mimic collegiate and athletic styles. Appliqué also adds dimension and texture and can cover a lot of area at a reduced stitch count.

2008 APPLIQUÉ PRICE SHEET

Costing Contract Appliqué involves determining the cost of the actual pieces of appliqué, the embroidery charge (based on stitch count), addition of the placement charge and any extras (tail, extra layers, oversize design, specialty fabrics). The price grid below provides estimated costs but all designs will be custom quoted as most appliqué work is custom cut to a specific logo or font. Please see below for example appliqué designs both stock and custom for an idea of pricing.

PRICING APPLIQUÉ

MINIMUM ORDER - 24 pieces

APPLIQUÉ - Cost of appliqué is based on size and fabric.

ADDITIONAL LAYER OF APPLIQUÉ - Add 100%

PLACEMENT CHARGE - There is a charge of $2.00 per garment for appliqué placement.

EMBROIDERY - Embroidery cost is based on stitch count using the Artistic Stitches, Inc. contract embroidery price grid.

TAIL - Add $1.00 per color (only available with script fonts)

TOTAL COST - Appliqué cost plus embroidery charge plus $2.00 placement charge.

NAME DROP IN TAIL - $15 Digitizing (additional stitch count will be added to embroidery charge)

OVERSIZED DESIGN (over 9.5" wide or high) - Add $1.25 each

SPLIT FRONT - (button front jersey) - Quote

DIGITIZING - $150.00

STOCK FABRIC - Poly Twill and Acrylic Felt (see below for a list of available colors and PMS comparisons)

SPECIALTY FABRIC - Add 50% for Wool Felt, Faux Suede, Glacier Twill (see below for a list of available colors and PMS comparisons)

DAMAGE ALLOWANCE - 2%

APPLIQUÉ PURCHASE ORDER REQUIREMENTS & PROCEDURES

PURCHASE ORDER – Send in your purchase order with both the standard and appliqué P.O. Requirements information. We can walk you through these additional appliqué processes.

ARTWORK – Artwork must be provided in one of the following formats: Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, Bitmap files with extensions .jpg, .tif, .gif and .bmp. If using a stock layout please specify a font, capital letter size, and layout (see our website www.artisticstitchesinc.com for options).

FINAL SIZE – Size of appliqué.

SMALLEST GARMENT – This info will allow us to determine what size appliqué is needed. Different sizes of appliqué may be ordered for the same logo in order to accommodate a variety of garment sizes.

APPLIQUÉ FABRIC – Indicate appliqué fabric and color.

THREAD COLOR – Appliqué fabric is not a perfect PMS match so let us know if we should match thread (tonal) to the appliqué fabric or if you wish to use a different thread color.

STITCH TYPE – Choose a stitch type (zigzag, satin, or straight (felt only)) to sew down your appliqué.

QUOTES - All appliqué is custom cut and therefore must be quoted. Quotes take 24-48 hours.

PROOFS - A paper proof will be provided 48 hours after receipt of your P.O. and artwork.

GARMENTS – Drop ship your garments to Artistic Stitches.

PRODUCTION TIME – Production time is normally 5-15 working days and varies depending on design complexity and number of garments.
